The custom shoes below were purchased for the niece of one of the
Happy Feet gallery owners, incorporating her beloved dog, Ollie on the heel. We have received so many requests by her schoolmates and other friends to know how we did it, and how they can do it as well, with their own pets, we've decided to post a bunch of examples (scroll down the page to see them all), along with some instructions.
You may want to print or save this information before proceeding, and also prepare the .jpg photo of your pet, placing it on your computer desktop.
First click on the graphic for the shoes you would like to use and you'll be taken to its product listing page. Click the "Customize it" tab, then scroll to the "Heel", using the left & right arrows, while you're in the "Product" view. Then click "change image" in the design tool area. The "Add Image" box will appear. Click the "My Computer" tab, then the "Choose File" tab, which will allow you to browse your computer for the photo of your pet. When you find it, click the "Choose" button. You'll see that the image is now attached. Click the "Add Image" button in the lower right, and the photo of your pet will be uploaded into the "Heel" area for the shoe design. You can then resize it or adjust the image until it's just right. (Note: if there's an image or color, other then white, on the heel of the existing shoe, you should generally delete that first, before you upload your pet's image, otherwise you'll be laying your photo on top of that color or graphic which may wind up "muddy" when printed/manufactured.)
You can also make other changes, like shoelace color and trim details, by clicking the "Keds Shoe Options" tab. Prior to placing your order, be sure to click "view as pair," for any shoe panels (Tongue, upper, heel, etc.) on which you made changes. Also make sure you've selected the correct shoe size, which you should actually do prior to making any graphical image resizing changes. Enjoy!
Note: stars & stripes design is not currently customizable, but the design is still pretty cool. Some designs, like the peace signs, are currently posted as a "kids" shoe, which goes up to size 5 youth. However, you can always email the gallery owner/designer and request that a "ladies" version be posted, size 5 and up.
